MyIBHub is an independent knowledge platform built for International Baccalaureate (IB) educators — practical guides, templates, and checklists that turn official IB frameworks into everyday classroom practice.

Teaching in the IB means constantly translating dense official guides into lesson plans, unit outlines, and assessments that work on a Tuesday morning with real students. MyIBHub exists to close that gap. It brings together implementation guides, planning templates, and worked examples in one place, so educators spend less time hunting for clarity and more time teaching.

Our Mission

MyIBHub's mission is to make IB curriculum frameworks easier to understand and apply, so educators can spend their limited planning time on the decisions that matter — not on re-reading a 200-page guide to find one definition.

Official IB documentation is thorough by design; it has to serve every subject, every context, every school. That thoroughness comes at a cost: it is not always fast to use in the middle of a planning week. MyIBHub's job is narrower and more practical — to sit alongside official IB publications and answer the question a teacher actually has: how do I do this, in my classroom, this unit?

Every guide, template, and checklist on MyIBHub is built around one goal: helping educators teach effectively without burning out on administrative overhead.

Our Vision

MyIBHub's long-term aspiration is to become the world's most trusted independent knowledge platform for IB educators — a place any MYP or DP teacher, anywhere in the world, can go to get a clear, evidence-informed answer without wading through forums or outdated blog posts.

That vision is deliberately bounded. MyIBHub is not trying to replace official IB training, publications, or authorization processes — it is trying to be the best possible companion to them: practical, current, and written by someone who has actually done the job.

Why MyIBHub Was Created

IB educators face a specific, recurring set of frictions:

  • Scattered information. Guidance on any single topic — writing a Statement of Inquiry, structuring a DP Extended Essay, choosing ATL skills — is often split across multiple official documents, workshop slide decks, and school-specific interpretations.
  • Long official guides. IB subject guides and programme documentation are comprehensive but dense, written for completeness rather than quick reference during a planning session.
  • Fragmented workshop knowledge. Category 1–3 workshops deliver valuable insight, but that knowledge is rarely written down afterward in a form colleagues — or the teacher's future self — can revisit.
  • Inconsistent online advice. Search results and social media groups mix accurate, experienced guidance with outdated or oversimplified advice, and it is not always obvious which is which.
  • Lack of practical implementation examples. It is one thing to know a Key Concept should drive a unit; it is another to see a fully worked example of what that looks like in a Sciences or Language and Literature classroom.

MyIBHub was created to address these gaps directly: consolidating scattered guidance into single, focused articles; translating official language into practical steps; and pairing every explanation with concrete, subject-varied examples rather than abstract description alone.

What We Do

  • Practical Guides — Chapter-based, in-depth explanations of MYP and DP concepts, written for application rather than recall.
  • Teaching Resources — Curated, ready-to-use planning aids that reduce the blank-page problem at the start of a unit.
  • Templates — Editable Unit Planning and Lesson Planning templates that mirror the official Inquiry / Action / Reflection structure.
  • Examples — Annotated, worked examples across subject groups, showing how the same concept plays out differently across disciplines.
  • Professional Learning — Structured guides intended to complement (not replace) official IB workshops and school-based mentoring.
  • Reference Library — Checklists and quick-audit tools for verifying a plan before it reaches the classroom.
  • Educational Technology — Practical guidance on the tools and systems that support MYP and DP delivery.
  • AI for Educators — Emerging guidance on using AI responsibly and effectively in IB curriculum design, planning, and assessment.

Who We Serve

New IB Teachers

Educators new to the IB need to build fluency fast. MyIBHub gives them structured, sequential guides — like the 24-chapter Unit Planning series — that build understanding step by step, rather than assuming prior IB experience.

Experienced IB Teachers

Experienced educators often need a fast, reliable reference rather than an introduction. MyIBHub is built to be skimmed and searched, not just read start to finish.

MYP Teachers

MyIBHub's MYP content walks through Key Concepts, Related Concepts, Global Contexts, and criterion-based assessment with subject-varied examples, so the same principle is legible across different subject groups.

DP Teachers

MyIBHub's DP content focuses on practical implementation of Core requirements and subject delivery, informed by direct DP Core coordination experience.

Coordinators

MyIBHub offers checklists and audit tools coordinators can hand directly to teaching teams, plus guidance for supporting staff who are new to the programme.

School Leaders

Overview-level guides give leadership teams a clear, non-technical grounding in how MYP and DP actually function in practice.

Curriculum Designers & Academic Coordinators

Structured breakdowns of how IB frameworks connect are useful as a reference when building schoolwide curriculum maps.

Educational Researchers & International School Administrators

MyIBHub serves as a plain-language reference for how IB frameworks are intended to function in classroom practice.

Our Principles

Knowledge First. Every piece of content starts from what an educator needs to understand, not what will perform well in search.

Practical Over Theory. Concepts are explained, then immediately grounded in a concrete classroom example.

Curated, Not Copied. MyIBHub does not reproduce official IB text — content is written independently and always adds interpretation and implementation guidance.

Simple Navigation. Content is organized by topic and programme so the right guide is a click or two away.

Community Driven. MyIBHub is designed to incorporate input and contributions from the wider IB educator community over time.

What Makes MyIBHub Different

MyIBHub is not trying to replace any of the resources IB educators already use — it is designed to sit alongside them, filling a specific gap each one leaves open.

  • Vs. Official IB Documentation — Official guides are the authoritative source and always take precedence. MyIBHub complements them with faster, example-driven, classroom-ready explanations.
  • Vs. Social Media Groups — Educator groups are valuable for real-time peer support, but answers are informal and hard to search later. MyIBHub offers a structured, stable, revisitable alternative.
  • Vs. Random Blog Posts — MyIBHub content is written and reviewed by a practicing IB educator and kept current.
  • Vs. General Search Engines — MyIBHub is built to be the destination search engines point to, assembling a coherent explanation rather than a single fact.

Why Trust MyIBHub

  • Evidence-Informed Content — Grounded in official IB publications and cited accordingly.
  • Transparent Authorship — Every article identifies its author by name, with a public professional profile.
  • Editorial Standards — Content follows a consistent structure and review process before publication (see our Editorial Policy).
  • Continuous Updates — Articles are revisited as IB frameworks evolve; publish and update dates are shown on every article.
  • References — Claims are traceable back to official IB source material wherever applicable.
  • Independent Perspective — No commercial relationship with the IBO and no incentive to overstate official guidance.
  • Professional Experience — Written by an IB educator with direct MYP Design, DP Core coordination, and curriculum leadership experience.
  • Human Review — All content, including any AI-assisted drafting, is reviewed and finalized by a human educator before publication.

Independence Statement

MyIBHub does not offer IB authorization, accreditation, or official certification of any kind, and nothing on this site should be interpreted as an official IB position or requirement. Educators and schools should always refer to official IB publications and their IB World School coordinator for authoritative programme requirements.
