This page explains exactly how content gets made — what sources we use, who reviews it, how AI is involved, and what happens when something needs to be corrected. We publish this openly because trust in educational content shouldn't have to be taken on faith.

Our Editorial Mission

MyIBHub exists to help IB educators spend less time searching and more time teaching. That mission only works if the content itself is dependable. Our editorial mission is to produce guidance that is grounded in knowledge sharing, in service of teacher empowerment, committed to continuous learning, focused on practical implementation, and evidence-informed — traceable back to official IB documentation, research, or verifiable professional experience.

Knowledge First — Content decisions start with what an educator needs to understand, not what might rank well or attract clicks.

Practical Over Theory — Every concept is paired with a concrete, applicable example.

Curated, Not Copied — MyIBHub does not reproduce official IB text or third-party content; all writing is original.

Accuracy Before Speed — No article is published to meet a deadline at the expense of correctness.

Transparency — Authorship, sourcing, and update history are visible on every article.

Continuous Improvement — Articles are revisited as frameworks evolve or understanding sharpens.

Respect for Intellectual Property — Sources are credited and no content infringes on the IBO's or any other publisher's copyright.

Independent Perspective — MyIBHub has no commercial or organizational relationship with the IBO.

Community Contribution — Editorial standards are designed to extend to contributing educators as MyIBHub grows.

Content Standards

Every published article is expected to be accurate, clear, practical, evidence-supported, neutral, readable, complete, accessible, evergreen, and consistent with the rest of the site's structure and tone.

Source Selection

MyIBHub prioritizes sources in this order: primary sources (official IB publications such as Middle Years Programme: From Principles into Practice, MYP Subject Group Guides, and What is an IB Education?); secondary sources (peer-reviewed research, government and accreditation body publications); professional opinion (experienced educators and workshop leaders, clearly identified as interpretation); and personal experience (the author's own classroom and coordination experience, always distinguished from official requirement).

Research & Citation Standards

Evidence is collected by consulting primary IB documentation first, supplemented by secondary research and professional experience where official guidance is silent or flexible. Factual, framework-specific claims require a citation back to official documentation. Interpretive or practice-based claims are attributed to professional experience or research rather than presented as official requirement. Where evidence is genuinely mixed, the article says so explicitly. Quotations are limited, attributed, and used under standard educational fair-use principles.

Editorial Workflow

Topic Selection → Research → Draft → Technical Review → Editorial Review → Fact Check → Publication → Continuous Updates.

  • Topic Selection — Chosen based on genuine, recurring needs of MYP and DP educators.
  • Research — Relevant primary and secondary sources are gathered before drafting begins.
  • Draft — Written around a clear structure: explanation, evidence, and applied example.
  • Technical Review — Checked against source material for factual and framework accuracy.
  • Editorial Review — Reviewed for clarity, structure, tone, and site-wide consistency.
  • Fact Check — Every specific claim is re-verified against its cited source before publication.
  • Publication — Goes live with visible author attribution and a publish date.
  • Continuous Updates — Periodically revisited; the "last updated" date is refreshed when content changes.

Human Review Process

Every article published on MyIBHub is reviewed by a human editor before it goes live, checking accuracy, clarity, educational usefulness, technical correctness, and reader experience. No article bypasses this review, regardless of how it was drafted.

AI Usage Policy

AI tools are used as part of MyIBHub's content workflow, and we believe in being direct about that rather than obscuring it.

AI may assist with: drafting, editing and language refinement, summarizing source material, formatting, workflow automation, and brainstorming.

AI does not: replace professional judgment about what is accurate, useful, or appropriate for educators; determine what gets published; generate factual claims about IB frameworks without those claims being checked against primary sources; or author content independently under a byline.

We treat AI the way we'd treat any other drafting or research tool: useful for speed and consistency, never a substitute for editorial judgment.

Content Updates

Articles are periodically reviewed for continued accuracy, particularly when IB frameworks are revised. Minor updates are made on an ongoing basis; major revisions go through the full editorial workflow. Every article displays its Published and Updated dates.

Corrections Policy

Readers can report a suspected error via our contact channel (coming soon). Reported errors are evaluated against the original cited source and corrected promptly once verified. Substantive corrections are reflected in the article's Updated date.

Conflict of Interest

MyIBHub's editorial decisions are made independently of any commercial, institutional, or organizational relationship — including with the IBO (see our Independence Statement). Any future sponsored content or affiliate relationships will be clearly disclosed and will not influence unrelated editorial recommendations.

Advertising Policy

MyIBHub currently carries no advertising. If advertising is introduced in the future, it will never influence which topics are covered, how they are written, or what recommendations are made.

Community Contributions

MyIBHub's long-term roadmap includes opening structured pathways for other IB educators to contribute content, held to the same Content Standards described above, reviewed through the same editorial workflow, with MyIBHub retaining final editorial discretion while preserving clear author attribution. A formal contributor process is not yet open.

Copyright & Fair Use

All MyIBHub content is original writing. Source material is credited rather than reproduced. Quotations are kept short, attributed, and used consistent with standard educational fair-use principles. International Baccalaureate®, IB®, MYP®, and DP® trademarks are used descriptively only and remain the property of the International Baccalaureate Organization.

MyIBHub is committed to clear, plain-language writing; inclusive language that does not assume a single school context or region; accessible formatting with proper heading structure and descriptive link text; screen-reader-friendly page structure; and mobile-usable layout.
